Grasp Studios, LLC is a progressive videography company that focuses on digital video and media content for the web, headed by Keith Christmas. We were excited about it from the beginning. Keith is a dynamic personality and we wanted to project that with his brand.

Grasp was a project of some scope, including:

  • XML driven portfolio website with Flash navigation
  • Full multi-user blog with syndication (rss)
  • Established A Myspace presence
  • Spot UV business cards
  • Remixed resume layout
  • PHP/MySQL driven business management system for invoicing and client tracking

Embedding Your RSS Feed In Firefox

RSS is a beautiful thing. Even if you don’t know what it is, you like it, I promise (Dad). But for you developers and webmasters out there, are you sure you’re taking full advantage of RSS integration into browsers like Mozilla’s Firefox?

Firefox comes stock with the ability to save “live bookmarks”. These little wonders let people click a tiny orange button in the lower righthand corner of their browser window (that looks like the picture on this post) and subscribe the site’s feeds.

Firefox’s live bookmarks give your site a new subdirectory of its very own in the surfer’s browser, and every time you post something new and mindblowing, their browser instantly knows! Imagine!

Sounds hot you say? It is. But first you have to let Firefox know your site has an RSS feed. It’s not a painful process, just throw this extra link tag into the <head> of your page, up with your CSS links and your kickass 16×16 favicon.ico link ยป

That’s it, the whole saga. For the extra four seconds of code you have to crank out, the benefits for your site in the form of convenience to surfers is massive. DO IT. Make the magic happen.
